ABOUT THE ARTIST

Photography and the Life diary have helped Stephanie connect places to her emotions and provide a platform to share these moments.

"We learn to read and to write but we never learn how to see …”

A maxim that Stephanie’s father shared with her and that resonated in her heart, at the age of 10, while facing the sunset on the French side of Lake Geneva, with a Kodak instamatic in hand."

A true passion for capturing life

At she reaches 17, Stephanie Be. got her first analog camera. Being a self-taught photographer, she has developed a true passion in capturing and enjoying life’s moments through the lens, collecting over 100,000 moments, across 7 continents, in 45 countries.

Be (t) here has presented an opportunity to share some of Stephanie’s work with duality. Her interest in duality was something she developed at a young age. During her early teenage years, she wore two watches with two different time zones to foresee and apprehend that others could live and evolve in different places at different times.

A digital nomad with a free spirit

As a global citizen, Stephanie has been travelling extensively. She has spent her last 23 years confronting different universes, atmospheres and cultures across several countries. This has given her the opportunity to appreciate the different corners of the world, from the vibrant cities to the calming natural landscapes. This global exploration incited her to run her first solo exhibition in London in 2013, named “Antarcticart.” A photographic exploration that captured the beauty and wildness of the most remote continents.

A creative mind with an open heart

Stephanie’s enthusiasm and ambition to share her work is not just driven by the urge to cause a difference in people’s lives. Her generosity and sensitivity inherited from her mother encline her to collectively support a great cause: Alzheimer’s Society having been directly impacted by the disease through her maternal and paternal grandparents.
