FICTIONAL REALITY

Creativity gives us the power to imagine a world that has not yet been created.

Why shouldn't we explore this and allow others to benefit by sharing new perspectives? Photography connects emotions to places, providing a platform to share these moments.

#3 REACHING FOR THE MOON

Annecy, France (29.07.2016) x Guggenheim Museum - Bilbao, Spain (07.11.2006)

"Shoot for the moon, even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars” – Norman Vincent Peale.

Remembering this quote while at Spain's Guggenheim museum, its industrial brass design struck me. A decade later, captivated by Space Age, I photographed the moon upon landing in Geneva, with my 70-300 mm Canon SLR. These images unite natural and man-made silver, a blend of nature's elegance and industry's touch.

#53 ALPINE ARTERY

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (20.11.2021) x Zermatt, Switzerland (12.12.2021)

Life is filled with contrast and that's probably what enriches it. As I was contemplating the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn snaking its way through the enchanting Swiss Alps, the bustling and metropolis of Dubai resurfaces in my mind. Tranquility and timelessness suddenly contrast with dynamism and ambition of modern civilization. Yet, despite their differences, both landscapes share a sense of inspiring grandeur that transcends cultural boundaries and captivates the imagination.

Blue shadows of people

#21 MOONLIGHT SHADOWS

Thollon Les Mémises - French Alps, France (01.01.2020) x San Salvador Island, Bahamas (13.03.2016)

The shadows are a self-reflection on how we run through our lives. While white streaks on a backdrop resemble sisters sking on a slope, leaving their marks, The clean lines of snow clash with the uneven texture of sand. Back shadows are suddenly revealing friends celebrating life on the beach. How friends and family could possibly help you reflect on who you are and the connections you draw with them?

We are always moving towards our next journey and being lifted up towards the next stage of life, like ski lifts or gondolas, taking us to similar places. Yet, life is unpredictable, and when we think we know what's ahead, the unknown still surprises us during the journey.

Like a reminiscence, this foam holds memories of an alpine journey, sparking a yearning for exploration and self-transcendence. Contrasting shapes and textures mingle, evoking rugged peaks and snowy slopes. It transports us to a rocky, icy landscape, like a frozen mirage.

#8 FISH EYE

A silver fish in Mauritius struck me during a world trip in 2006. A decade later, during a stay at the Backstage hotel in Zermatt, memories of the island resurfaced. What is the origin of this sudden reminiscence? A bathtub stopper! Combined, the two photos take on a completely different, more enigmatic meaning. Keep your eyes peeled!
